Starting out

Well, I'm going to (and so are all my family, all the way down to the 9 year old) take a crack at this write a novel in a month thing. Since I think it has to be at least 60,000 words (the organizers say 50,000) I reckon that I have 2,000 words a day and I'll probably need to take the equivalent of two days off a week so I really only have 21 or 22 days which means I really need to try to do 3,000 words a day. Gulp!

The rules include no starting until November 1st, so I can't start right now. But I am allowed to think about it and outline and run ideas around, so I'll do that here until the big day arrives...
