Themes and thoughts

Now I have to start working out ideas and ways to make this proposed novel work right. I think that since it is a mystery, set in the early 1980's in South London, and covering some rather British things like football, hooliganism, beer, policemen, conservative politics, beer, socialist politics, beer and maybe pop music, I also need to include something about pubs.

While I'm on the subject of beer - if you like beer and especially if you like making beer, then you need to check out Beer, Beer and More Beer.

I don't think I am going to strive for tremendous levels of realism - about as much as I can dredge up from my very early twenties. Besides, if I describe what attending football matches was like on a realistic level rather than a metaphysical level, then everyone will stop reading in disgust.

Oh - I have to cover fish and chips and curries as well - maybe a curry-eating contest.
